from this conversation:
t: hmm, you ever here of 'eutectic' solder?
 t: SN 63/37
 t: instead of 60/40
 h: eutecic ?
 t: /shrug
t: was looking to see if there was a tutorial on using solder wick when i came across a bunch of "soldering" howtos and then arguments on what kinda of solder to buy
 h: ah
h: thats more a question of "mythology"
 h: i do not use 64/40
h: i use one with 3% flux and Sn and so inside
h: very expensive but very good
t: i've always used 60/40, but thats cuz i accidently ordered 6 spools of it back in '96 and my boss said to throw it away. i took it home, lol
t: on my last spool :D
t: oh wait, that was 93, heh
h: yes, the "normal" 60/40 is crap
 t: http://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.pl?forum=cables&n=1499&highlight=eutectic&r=&session=
t: after reading that me thinks i might upgrade :D
h: i do not know my vendor
h: but it is a good one
h: 1/2 kg of the last time i bougth was bout 600 euro
t: the 60/40 i have is by kester. i think they a big brand in US atleast
 h: forget the brand
h: there are really "good" ones
 h: but brutal expensive

h: it gets VERY very flexible
h: and hard the same time
 h: and once you tried
h: you will never usesomething other
 t: hehe

 h: really
 h: it is very important
h: specially if you do repairs or re-du solderings
h: who was done in wave or reflow soldering
h: and notice lead-reduced and lead-free machine soldering
 h: very complex
h: so there are special solders who can be used in any combination
 h: for fixing and so
h: the problem is taht you can not buy them in a show
 h: shop
h: i bought them direct at our XXXXXXX producer guy who has the machines

t: welp, i'll look for it

 h: look to www.stannol.de
h: they are market leaders in solder-free
h: most of them are Sn60PbCu2

h: AND you will pay any price to get this then too

 t: did you mean lead-free?
h: on the soldering place there are 8 different soldering flux
 h: no, the hybrid version
